But in a swift reaction, the embattled chairman stated that the committee did not have the power to remove him from office and described the SWC as “fifth columnist.” According to the SWC, Kekemeke was canvassing for votes on behalf of Dr. Segun Abraham, an alleged protégé of Bola Tinubu, ahead of the party’s August 27 primary. The SWC of the party which comprises members of the state and local government executives took the decision at an emergency meeting held in Akure, the state capital, on Saturday. An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court, which gave the order, said the woman should be remanded in the Kirikiri prisons until her bail conditions were met. The magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, had granted the accused bail in the sum of N20, 000 with one surety in like sum, the News Agency of Nigeria reports. Taiwo, who lives on Lucky Fiber Road, Ikorodu, had pleaded not guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct and assault occasioning harm. The prosecutor, Sergeant Ihiehie Lucky, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 10, 2016, at Ketu bus stop.
