The Oyo State Police Command said four suspected assassins had been arrested in connection with the murder of a member of the state House of Assembly, Gideon Aremu.
The lawmaker was until his death the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Public Relations and Security.
He was killed on July 1, 2016 in front of his house in the Alakia area of the state as he alighted from his car to open the gate.
Three gunmen, who trailed him on a motorcycle, were said to have shot him dead.
The state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, had placed a N5m bounty on the heads of the gunmen responsible for the act.
The state Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, in a statement on Sunday, said four suspects were arrested by a combined team of the Intelligence Response Team of the Inspector-General of Police and detectives from the Oyo State Police Command.
He said, “I wish to inform you that four suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a lawmaker, Gideon Aremu.
