President Buhari returns from London to Nigeria as scheduled

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected back to Nigeria at 5pm GMT (6pm local time) on Sunday, June 19.

The presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, confirmed the development: The president departed Abuja for the British capital, London, on June 6. Initially the trip was planned as a 10-day vacation. The medical check-up with an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist was scheduled for the president. However, the duration of Buhari’s stay was unexpectedly prolonged. The Nigerian leader had a number of meetings and discussions while on holiday. Buhari met the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu, the prominent Yoruba monarch Oba Sikiru Adetona and the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.
